John D. Ferwerda has made over 100 instruments, including violins, violas, cellos, double basses, an arpeggione, two harpsichords and several baroque instruments.
He prefers to work on a commission basis and likes to discuss your aspirations for the finished instrument before the work begins.
Violin - $18,000 AUD
Viola - $20,000 AUD
Cello - $36,000 AUD
Bass - $40,000 AUD
A 25% deposit is required before work commences and the remainder once the instrument has been completed.
Customers are encouraged to follow the making of their instrument from start to finish and visit the workshop during construction.
